Loblolly Garden Club & Pinehurst Rotary Club
Every Fall, the Loblolly Garden Club members come to the SWE to do a ‘Labor of Love’ project of cleaning up our grounds before our reopening. It was obvious to the members that help WAS NEEDED because all the spring/summer rains had produced mega weeds and trimming work to be done. We called on Pinehurst Rotary Club to come join our crew on SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 3 for the workday. With everyone’s help, the work was done and now the cabin is ready to be pretty on September 7, our reopening day!

Pinehurst Police Chief and Officers
WE WERE PROUD to host the Pinehurst Police Chief and a few of his officers for our monthly 'Table of Five Fridays' lunch. Our Board member and Artisan Chairman, Yvonne Gale, was the hostess and dessert provider for the group. All seemed to enjoy their own Chef Katrina lunch...and especially the applause from the cafe when they departed. Just another way we celebrate our 100th year in this vibrant community!
Shown left to right: Officer Sanchez, Randi Rowland, Yvonne Gale, Chief Glen Webb, Deputy Chief Ken Hall, and Officer Mike Tew. Thanks for all you do.
SCC President John Dempsey & College Staffers.
Our monthly 'Table of Five Fridays' complimentary lunch today included SCC President John Dempsey and four college staffers. As part of our 100th year celebration, the guests are hosted by one of the SWE board members. Shown left to right are: President John Dempsey, Hannah Altergott, Michelle Bauer, Dr. Rebecca Roush and April Ikner. General Manager Mary Meier was hostess for the group and provided the dessert following the Chef Katrina lunch.
French Bistro Dinner
The French Bistro gourmet dinner had to be bumped from Sunday, Jan. 16, to Monday evening this week. But all that snow and ice didn't deter the guests, Chefs and waitresses from having a wonderful, delicious evening to remember. Thanks to Joyce Reehling for implementing the idea and having her hubby, Tony Elms, and friend, Jim Wiltjer for cooking the four course dinner. Bon jour and merci to all!
Ornament Decorators
You need to know these four Christmas elves who were responsible for decorating our front cabin museum area. It was an especially welcoming feast for the eyes and ears of our guests during the holidays. They all decorated the museum for Christmas.
Our special thanks to KATHY NEWCOMB, GLENDA KIRBY, SARAH PRESTIPINO and MARY HILGENBERG. Check it out...Mary even created personalized ornaments for our volunteers!
